WHAT TO KNOW!

This is a really fun and memorable Via Ferrata for 2 reasons, 1) a great course design with some nice variety, 2) a truly incredible backdrop of Mont Blanc and the Chamonix valley.  Once you take the cable car up to Flegere, turn left and follow the green "Via Des Evettes" signs along for around 20 mins walk up to the clear starting point.  The course is a twisting climb up through the upper limits of the trees that will take around 1 hour to complete.

You can divide the course into 3 main sections.  The first part is a really enjoyable climb of 3 parts which I would recommend to make sure that you are ahead of any slow / family groups as you will want to take them in 1 go.  The 2nd section after a mini wire bridge is a scramble up through many different rock outcrops and escarpments, leading up a final climb to the summit.  The 3rd and final part is a truly epic 50m 3 wire bridge across a canyon, which has an insane back drop of Mont Blanc for fantastic photos... you will enjoy this (if you like heights).

The course is well balanced with plenty of rest points and a couple of escape routes.  It is suitable for beginners who have a good head for heights, and there is no point which will test you too much apart from a couple of technical moments.  The last part is definitely the highlight!  The path back down is not quite so well signposted but once again you can follow the green poles to take you back to Flegere.

Overall, good fun... a little bit disjointed, but plenty of variety!
